What is NatureBASICS?
NatureBasics

Did you know that Canada is home to approximately 140,000 species, each with its own unique story?

Scientists dedicate their lives to studying these species. You can now join them by becoming a citizen scientist through Nature Canada’s NatureBASICS program.

NatureBASICS is designed to engage Canadians in the natural world around them. It teaches you about interesting plants and animals including the white water lily, the wood frog and the monarch butterfly. It helps you develop basic observation and recording skills so you can join the more than 10,000 other citizen scientists in exploring our wonderful country.
