Hello Nature Canada,

This is a photo of a White Egret coming in for a landing at a nearby Wetlands in London, Ont.

The Egret doesn't stay long in the area. This day was about hit and miss and today was a good day to see this beauty flying and fishing. I was able to photograph this Egret as its wings were completely out and its feet just above the water.

Thank you.

Thanks for sharing this spectacular photo with us, John! Our staff were absolutely delighted with the moment you managed to capture.

The Great Egret (also known as the Great White Egret) has a range that extends beyond that of most herons and can be found across much of the world. In Canada, we are lucky to catch a glimpse of this large white heron in the southern parts of the country during migration.
