| The Nature Nation E-Newsletter Photo of the Month
In August of 2006, my husband and I spent some time with friends at their beloved cottage on Bell Lake in Killarney Provincial Park, Ontario. Being an enthusiastic photographer, and a watercolour painter, I wanted to be on the lake to experience the mystical colours of dawn. I set my alarm for the early hours, slipped my friends’ lightweight canoe into the misty lake at first light, then paddled out to watch the sun creep up over the horizon. Silently, I waited for the first sliver of sun to clear the trees and paint magical colours on the lake and the shore. Moment by moment, I snapped the changing scenery as the sun’s light danced with the morning mist and the shore’s reflections. For an unforgettable hour, I paddled slowly, reveled in the colours, and took photographs. The morning’s breathtaking experience was a gift of unforgettable splendor, silence and serenity.
