How to Support Us

Your Donation at Work

Your gift goes straight to work supporting one of our many vital conservation or outreach programs. Here are some of the ways your support will help to protect nature:

Communities in Action

You can help volunteers take action in their own communities!
Your support of our Communities in Action program will put hundreds of volunteers to work on community-based conservation projects all across Canada. Nature Canada works hand-in-hand with local naturalists to restore habitat, monitor wildlife and secure wetlands at Important Bird Areas in nearly every province and territory.

Important Bird Areas

Cardinal

Your donations will help protect key habitats for birds both common and endangered!
With donor support, Nature Canada identified 597 Important Bird Areas in Canada that are vitally important for breeding, migrating and wintering birds. These priority areas span 10,900km2 of land and water that support millions of birds. Nature Canada is a co-partner in the international Important Bird Areas (IBA) program, which aims to identify, conserve and monitor a network of sites that provides essential habitat for bird populations.

The IBA Canada program works to strengthen Canada’s network of protected areas, battle unsound resource exploitation and restore altered habitats. Your gifts will support our volunteers working to build nest boxes, erect signs, remove invasive species, plant native grasses and promote the value of wildlife.

With your commitment, we can help foster the next generation of environmental stewards!
Established jointly with Parks Canada, our Parks and People program works to provide opportunities for urban youth to experience nature alongside seasoned and passionate local naturalists.

Tens of thousands of children have had unforgettable experiences in nature through our program. They’ve done things like critter-dipping in New Brunswick, cross-country skiing in Ontario and visiting Haida mortuary poles in British Columbia.

Protecting Species and Spaces

With your help, we speak out against the destruction of pristine wilderness areas.
Habitat loss is pushing many species closer to the brink of extinction. Nature Canada is working to reverse this trend by pushing for effective species protection laws and action on establishing a stronger protected areas network.
