Nature Canada is working to ensure Canada has a robust system of protected areas that are shielded from development through effective legislative and regulatory protection, cared for through strong management and enforcement; and adequately funded so that protection remains for years to come.

Nature Canada is currently involved in conservation work to establish or protect the following national wildlife areas:

• Suffield National Wildlife Area

• Scott Islands Marine Wildlife Area

• Mackenzie Valley
