1. What are the objectives of the Parks and People program?
To provide opportunities for knowledgeable, committed citizens to become involved as stewards of their national parks, national marine conservation areas, provincial parks and/or other protected areas, and to share their knowledge and passion with others. The program will provide these leaders with opportunities to show their support for the protection of nature.

To create a cadre of environmental citizen mentors who can teach through example and commitment, and who will share their knowledge and experience.

To deliver to audiences, through these mentor citizens, learning experiences that focus on conserving and protecting Canada’s natural heritage (specifically, experiences that promote the value of parks and protected areas).

To introduce people, primarily urban youth, to nature.

To create new environmental stewards.
